Center Street Kitchen
A new sophisticated kitchen updated this Vienna home. Removing a wall, relocating a door, providing a new window, and of course new cabinetry transformed this kitchen. By rethinking the space, the kitchen works for the way this family of four lives today.
Before
The original kitchen was dated and didn't provide enough storage or counter space. The kitchen had a small U-shaped cabinetry layout and small eating area adjacent to the garage access. The formal dining room was rarely used and accessed from the kitchen through a small door way.
After
Opening up the wall between the kitchen and dining room gave the kitchen a gracious and open feel. The existing windows in the kitchen were replaced with one large window centered in the room. The door to the garage was relocated to provide better traffic flow through the space. The center island, in a dark grey finish, anchors the kitchen. The renovated kitchen added much needed storage.
Details
The classic design of the kitchen updates the colonial style home. Finishes include; white cabinets with nickel hardware, grey subway tile, dark grey ceramic tile plank flooring, and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen sink is a stainless steel apron style. Taking the upper cabinets to the ceiling added more storage and a clean look.
